Support for Local Authority Programmes

The CPLD Quality Mark was invited to work with the Kent Local Authority SEND Pilot Project to support the implementation of the Kent SEND Strategy. The CPD implications of the 2014 Code and the ability of nurseries/pre-schools, mainstream schools, colleges and work-based training providers to meet the 0-25 agenda are huge.

The CPLD Quality Mark is working in partnership with the Inclusion Quality Mark and University of Canterbury, under the direction of a Steering Group of sector leaders, to engage and support leaders and practitioners in wide range of settings across Kent to implement the strategy.

Twenty-three settings including pre-schools, primary, secondary and special schools, colleges, training providers and specialist services are involved in using the CPLD Quality Mark Toolkit to explore the CPD and JPD issues of working collaboratively to implement the SEND strategy.

The use of the CPLD Quality Mark is revealing the range of successful strategies and processes that settings are using to meet the challenges of the 2014 Code and Kent’s strategy such as the use of quality first teaching, the use of the Kent Core Standards, precision teaching methodologies, learner engagement processes, parent partnerships, interfacing with agencies etc.
